Sanven Technology Vevor Baby Gates recall: Risk of Serious Injury from Entrapment Hazard
Risk of Serious Injury from Entrapment Hazard; Violates Mandatory Standard for Gates and Enclosures

The hazard: Strangulation, entrapment or suffocation hazard
Strangulation and suffocation risks are what this notice addresses. Supervision is not a workable substitute for the remedy, because these incidents happen in silence and in minutes.
What the notice says: The recalled gates violate the mandatory standard for expansion gates and expandable enclosures because a child's torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, posing a risk of serious injury due to entrapment.
Why it matters: A cord, gap, strap or soft surface on this product can trap a child or restrict their breathing. These incidents are silent: there is no noise to bring an adult in from the next room.
Symptoms and when to call a doctor
If a child is found trapped or unresponsive, free them if you safely can, call 911, and start CPR if they are not breathing. Even after an apparently full recovery, a child who lost consciousness or had their airway blocked needs to be assessed the same day, because swelling and lung injury can develop afterwards.
This page is general information, not medical advice. If you feel unwell, a clinician who can see you is the only person able to judge your case.

What to do about Strangulation
Sanven Technology — Strangulation and suffocation risks are what this notice addresses. Supervision is not a workable substitute for the remedy, because these incidents happen in silence and in minutes.
- Stop using the product immediately and move it out of the room where the child sleeps or plays.
- Claim the remedy on this page, photographing the model and date code first — the claim form will ask for both.
- For sleep products, put the baby down on a firm, flat surface with nothing else in it — a crib, bassinet or play yard meeting current federal standards.
- Do not resell, donate or hand it on. Passing on a recalled nursery item is illegal in the United States and is the main way these products stay in circulation.
If the claim stalls
Most recall claims are paid without argument. The ones that stall usually stall for a reason you can fix.
- Check you used the recall channel rather than ordinary customer support — the two queues rarely talk to each other.
- If the company is unresponsive or has stopped trading, report it to the CPSC at SaferProducts.gov, and try the retailer in parallel.
- Paid by card? A chargeback for goods that are unfit for sale is a legitimate fallback once the company has had a fair chance.
- Send the photos they asked for in the format they asked for. A missing date code is the single commonest reason a claim sits unprocessed.
Remedy named in the notice: Consumers should stop using the recalled gates immediately and contact Sanven Technology for a full refund. Consumers should destroy the gate by cutting through the mesh and send a photo of the destroyed gate to [email protected].
Company contact: Sanven Technology toll-free at 855-599-6320 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, email at [email protected], or online at https://www.vevor.com/pages/Vevor-Retractable-Baby-Gates-Recall or at www.vevor.com and click "Product Recall" at the top of the page for more information.
