Joolz Aer2 Car Seat Adapters for Strollers recall: Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Suffocation and Fall Hazards
Risk of Serious Injury or Death from Suffocation and Fall Hazards; Violates Mandatory Standard for Infant Sleep Products

The hazard: Strangulation, entrapment or suffocation hazard
This product can trap a child or restrict their airway, which is why the advice is to stop using it today rather than to supervise it more closely.
What the notice says: The baby loungers violate the mandatory standard for Infant Sleep Products because the sides are shorter than the minimum side height limit to secure the infant; the sleeping pad's thickness exceeds the maximum limit, posing a suffocation hazard; and an infant could fall out of an enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped. The portable loungers do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard. These violations create an unsafe sleeping environment for infants, posing a risk of serious injury or death.
Why it matters: A cord, gap, strap or soft surface on this product can trap a child or restrict their breathing. These incidents are silent: there is no noise to bring an adult in from the next room.
Symptoms and when to call a doctor
If a child is found trapped or unresponsive, free them if you safely can, call 911, and start CPR if they are not breathing. Even after an apparently full recovery, a child who lost consciousness or had their airway blocked needs to be assessed the same day, because swelling and lung injury can develop afterwards.
This page is general information, not medical advice. If you feel unwell, a clinician who can see you is the only person able to judge your case.

What to do about Strangulation
Joolz — This product can trap a child or restrict their airway, which is why the advice is to stop using it today rather than to supervise it more closely.
- Stop using the product immediately and move it out of the room where the child sleeps or plays.
- Claim the remedy on this page, photographing the model and date code first — the claim form will ask for both.
- For sleep products, put the baby down on a firm, flat surface with nothing else in it — a crib, bassinet or play yard meeting current federal standards.
- Do not resell, donate or hand it on. Passing on a recalled nursery item is illegal in the United States and is the main way these products stay in circulation.
How the remedy works
CPSC recalls specify one of three remedies, and which one you get is not negotiable — but how smoothly it goes often is.
- A refund means the purchase price back, sometimes prorated by age for durable goods. Ask how they calculated it if the figure looks low.
- Several recalls now ask you to destroy the item and send a photo as proof. Register the claim before you do that, never after.
- Return shipping is the company’s cost. If you are asked to pay it, push back.
- A repair kit is shipped free and is designed to be fitted at home; if you cannot fit it, ask whether they will arrange installation.
Remedy named in the notice: Consumers should stop using the baby loungers immediately and contact CooCooBaby for a full refund. Consumers should remove the sleeping pad, cut up the sides of the baby lounger and the sleeping pad and email a photo of the destroyed lounger to [email protected] to obtain a full refund issued to the original payment method.
