What is wrong
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023–2027 Cadillac LYRIQ, 2025–2026 model year Cadillac CELESTIQ, 2024–2027 Chevrolet Blazer EV, and 2026-2027 Cadillac VISTIQ vehicles. The brake system control module (BSCM) contains a software defect that may cause a loss of braking during certain driving conditions.
The risk
A loss of braking ability increases the risk of a crash.
Why brake defects matter: Brake defects can show up as a soft or hard pedal, a warning lamp, a leak or longer stops — or with no warning at all.
The remedy
The BSCM software will be updated through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 14, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N262570900. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 29, 2026.
About the brakes
Service brake campaigns cover the hydraulic, air or electric brake system: master cylinder, lines and hoses, calipers, the ABS module and, on newer vehicles, brake-by-wire software.

Check by VIN
A campaign rarely covers every vehicle of a model year. Enter your 17-character VIN to find the recall campaigns filed for your make, model and model year. The VIN is on the driver’s side of the dashboard (visible through the windshield), on the door-jamb label, and on your registration and insurance documents.
Is a recall still open on your vehicle? Only NHTSA’s official VIN check can say whether a campaign applies to your exact vehicle and whether the repair has already been done.
Your VIN is decoded with NHTSA’s public vPIC service to identify the make, model and year. It is not stored and is not added to any page address.
