What is wrong
Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling certain 2024 CV515 SFA 4x4 and Severe Service emergency vehicles. A node may become unresponsive and cause a loss of functionality of connected components, such as exterior lighting and pump-mode.
The risk
A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A loss of pump-mode function may prevent or delay the use of emergency equipment, increasing the risk of injury.
Why equipment defects matter: The risk depends on the part — a gas leak is a fire risk, while a lift or ramp failure can injure the person using it.
The remedy
KME will work with Fire Research Corporation to replace the node, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 1, 2026. Owners may contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3928.
About the equipment
Equipment campaigns often involve recreational vehicles and commercial bodies: appliances, gas systems, lifts, labels and add-on parts.

Check by VIN
A campaign rarely covers every vehicle of a model year. Enter your 17-character VIN to find the recall campaigns filed for your make, model and model year. The VIN is on the driver’s side of the dashboard (visible through the windshield), on the door-jamb label, and on your registration and insurance documents.
Is a recall still open on your vehicle? Only NHTSA’s official VIN check can say whether a campaign applies to your exact vehicle and whether the repair has already been done.
Your VIN is decoded with NHTSA’s public vPIC service to identify the make, model and year. It is not stored and is not added to any page address.
