What is wrong
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Cadillac Vistiq vehicles. When the power fold feature is activated, the third-row power seatback may fail to reverse when enountering a person.
The risk
A person, especially a child, may be trapped by a rear powered seatback, increasing their risk of injury.
Why seat defects matter: A seat that moves, reclines or detaches unexpectedly can put an occupant out of position for the restraints.
The remedy
Dealers will reprogram the software for the folding seat module, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 6, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223. The manufacturer's number for this recall is N262555780. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on June 18, 2026.
About the seats
Seats are structural safety parts: they position the occupant for the belts and air bags and have to stay locked in a crash.

Check by VIN
A campaign rarely covers every vehicle of a model year. Enter your 17-character VIN to find the recall campaigns filed for your make, model and model year. The VIN is on the driver’s side of the dashboard (visible through the windshield), on the door-jamb label, and on your registration and insurance documents.
Is a recall still open on your vehicle? Only NHTSA’s official VIN check can say whether a campaign applies to your exact vehicle and whether the repair has already been done.
Your VIN is decoded with NHTSA’s public vPIC service to identify the make, model and year. It is not stored and is not added to any page address.
