What is wrong

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2026 Riverstone, Cedar Creek, and 2024 R-Pod recreational trailers equipped with Curt Touring Coil Suspensions. The shock bolts may have been incorrectly tightened.

The risk

Broken shock retainer bolt heads and washers may detach and become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Why suspension defects matter: A suspension part that breaks or separates can affect steering and handling, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will replace the shock bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 6, 2026. Owners may contact Cedar Creek customer service at 1-260-593-4000, R-Pod customer service at 1-574-642-3119, and Riverstone customer service at 1-260-593-4028. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-062.

About the suspension

The suspension keeps the tires on the road and the wheels aligned; it is also part of how the vehicle steers.

Check by VIN

A campaign rarely covers every vehicle of a model year. Enter your 17-character VIN to find the recall campaigns filed for your make, model and model year. The VIN is on the driver’s side of the dashboard (visible through the windshield), on the door-jamb label, and on your registration and insurance documents.

Is a recall still open on your vehicle? Only NHTSA’s official VIN check can say whether a campaign applies to your exact vehicle and whether the repair has already been done.

Your VIN is decoded with NHTSA’s public vPIC service to identify the make, model and year. It is not stored and is not added to any page address.
